After being closed due to tornado damage, contractor-repair failure, COVID, Silver Sands’ Sophia Vaughn, the third generation owner of the restaurant located in Hope Garden, announced that Silver Sands is back and better than ever. Social media lists hours as Tuesday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you've been then you know, if you haven't been you better find out.
Take a break from 2020 and enjoy nature with Fat Bear Week. For those who don't know, it’s an annual voting tournament of bears getting ready to hibernate in Alaska’s Katmai National Park and Preserve (@katmainpp). Vote for your favorite bear now through Oct. 6.
